Day 10: Multi-Dimensional Goals, Intentions, and Ways of Being
Integrating Goal Techniques: Anthony Robbins, David Wolfe, and Ken Wilber; Raw Food Elvis Trivia
Welcome to Day 10!
The goals we have in mind often drive us beyond what we believe we are capable of, and goals written down are even more powerful. Consider this famous goal study Anthony Robbins cites in his book Unlimited Power:
“A study of the 1953 graduates of Yale University clearly demonstrates the power of goals. The graduates interviewed were asked if they had a clear, specific set of goals written down with a plan for achieving those goals. Only three percent had written such goals.
Twenty years later, in 1973, the researchers went back and interviewed the surviving members of the 1953 graduating class. They discovered that the three percent with written specific goals were worth more in financial terms than the entire other 97 percent put together…The interviewers also discovered that the less measurable or more subjective measures, such as level of happiness and joy that the graduates felt, also seemed to be superior in the three percent with written goals.”
Goals by David Wolfe
Take some time to read this chapter on Goals from The Sunfood Diet Success System by David Wolfe, and write down your goals for this time of cleansing, one year ahead, and three years ahead. Not only is this a time capsule, but you will consciously and subconsciously work in your life towards the things you write down. This is very powerful information available for you to use right now!
Multidimensional Goals / Intentions / Ways of Being of David Rainoshek, MA
For three years I (David Rainoshek) was terribly sick with the complications of toxemia, dehydration, and malnourishment even though I ate an organic cooked vegetarian diet. I had hypoglycemia, acid reflux disease, and arthritic pain all through my body. At the very beginning of that period I wrote down my goals, one of which was to be well before I moved out of Houston, Texas.
Almost three years later, just six weeks before moving out of the city to the mountains, I discovered Live Food Nutrition through my mentor John Rose, and within three weeks of the move I was symptom-free. Now that is the power of the practice of writing down goals. Don’t wait, and refuse to limit yourself!
I call this file “Multidimensional Goals” because we are going to move beyond writing goals that just take our own selves into account. We are going to expand our healthy, egocentric goals outwards to take into account others, the world, and all beings. Your goals may be the same – but they will encompass more of the living Kosmos. This important update is thanks to my reading of American philosopher Ken Wilber over the last 5 years (check out his book A Theory of Everything). He does not talk about goals, but about the evolution of consciousness from egocentric (personal) to sociocentric (social) to worldcentric (global) to kosmocentric (considering all beings).
Finally, this exercise really goes beyond goals as an end-stage event we seek. You can use this file to set Intentions that have no final end-point, or Ways of Being which are part of the fiber of your evolutionary being.
Enjoy, and congratulations on Day 10!!!! See you in The Green Room!
P.S. Here is your Elvis Raw Food Trivia!!
According to a new book, Elvis Presley himself tried to be a raw foodist!
Here’s an excerpt from: Elvis Presley’s Own Story: If I Can Dream, by Larry Geller and Joel Spector with Patricia Romanowski, based on the secret diary kept by Larry Geller, Elvis’ friend and confidant:
One day in 1973, he [Elvis] asked, “What do you eat?”
As if he didn’t know. My “bizarre” eating habits–I was a vegetarian then–were the subject of countless Memphis Mafia wisecracks.
“Well,” I said, “I eat as much raw food as I can, raw fruits and vegetables, and I don’t eat meat.”
After I had explained my approach to nutrition, he nodded. Later that night, as we were all sitting down to dinner at the Holmby Hills house in Los Angeles, he said, “So that you all know what’s happening around here, I’m changing my diet. Because the spiritual teachings say that you have to eat right, I’ll be eating a lot of vegetables now, a lot of salads, and raw fruits. I’m telling the maids, and that’s what they’re going to make for me.”
Out went the brownies, the ice cream, the chicken-fried steak, the burgers. Elvis ate only fresh, nutritious, healthy foods–for two days. Then it was back to the same old nonsense.
And we know what happened to Elvis, sadly…. Enjoy your Juice Feast!!!

Multidimensional goals and ways of being
by David Rainoshek, M.A.
Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh has said that, “in order to heal the environment, we must first heal the environmentalist.” Quite right. What we have seen above by Wolfe and Good is goal-writing from that place of self-healing, which is very important. However, this is actually just the beginning of how good goal-writing can get.
Truly dynamic, abundant goal-writing includes personal goals, but includes and transcends personal concerns to include social and global realities.
Online Articles
by Ken Wilber and Integral Life
During the last 30 years, we have witnessed a historical first: all of the world’s cultures are now available to us. In the past, if you were born, say, a Chinese, you likely spent your entire life in one culture, often in one province, sometimes in one house, living and loving and dying on one small plot of land. But today, not only are people geographically mobile, we can study, and have studied, virtually every known culture on the planet. In the global village, all cultures are exposed to each other.
Knowledge itself is now global. This means that, also for the first time, the sum total of human knowledge is available to us—the knowledge, experience, wisdom and reflection of all major human civilizations—premodern, modern, and postmodern—are open to study by anyone.

by Ken Wilber
Ken Wilber is one of the most profound thinkers, writers, and practioners that I have ever encountered. A Theory of Everything is of interest two very different groups of readers. For those new to Wilber’s ideas, it provides a short (189 page) summary of his model of the Kosmos and his current thinking about it. For those who have been following his work for years, it represents an expansion into new territory. In this book, Wilber links his explanatory schemata to real-world problems and situations, and in doing so presents a convincing case that only an integral approach to personal and societal development will get humanity through the difficult times ahead.

Tony Robbins: The Power of Setting Goals
Setting life goals is the fundamental key to success. Whether it’s career advancement, taking up a new hobby or a commitment to building a lasting relationship, setting goals lets us create our future in advance of it actually happening. Setting goals helps us grow and expand, pushing ourselves to transform in ways that, just maybe, we never imagined. In order to truly feel fulfilled, we need to know and feel like we’re working to achieve something. As Tony Robbins says, “Progress equals happiness.” Setting goals is what gets us there. Robbins elevates goal-setting beyond the mundane in this excellent brief.
How Talking About Your Goals is (secretly) Destroying Your Success
We all like to tell everyone about our ambitious plans to build successful companies and take over the world. But does talking about it really do anything? Does anyone care?
Dr. Jeffrey Thompson: The Awakened Mind System
We all seek a state of higher consciousness that awakens and enlivens our whole being. Masters of meditation and yoga, great artists, inventors, and highly accomplished people in many walks of life have learned to develop and live from such a state.
British researcher and Zen master C. Maxwell Cade spent decades analyzing the brainwave patterns of these extraordinary people. He discovered that they each shared a common pattern of brainwaves, which Cade called the Awakened Mind Pattern, and which he believed held the key to tapping into one’s highest potential.
Created by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson, The Awakened Mind System uses breakthrough audio recording processes to help you access this brainwave pattern so that you can directly experience the enormous benefits of this heightened state of consciousness.
Dr. Thompson embeds inaudible pulses of sound that mirror the Awakened Mind Pattern into an ambient musical soundtrack. As you listen, your own brainwaves begin to reflect the Awakened Mind pattern, drawing you easily into states of deep insight, clarity of mind, creative inspiration and peak performance.
Listen as soft background music while working, painting, writing, or enjoying other creative activities. Daily use trains your brain to draw on your deepest capacities and abilities wherever and whenever you need them.
Based on over 15 years of pioneering clinical research - Use with headphones or ordinary speakers - Contains no spoken words or subliminal messages
Dr. Jeffrey Thompson’s pioneering work with thousands of patients has led to groundbreaking discoveries in how sound frequency patterns built into musical soundtracks induce brainwave entrainment. Fortune 500 companies, healthcare professionals, clinics, hospitals, meditation groups, and individuals worldwide use Dr. Thompsons audio programs for deep relaxation, healing, inner exploration, and meditation.
